WAGON
TRAIN ITINERARY
We
suggest you arrive in Cody no later than Sunday afternoon.
If you fly in we'll pick you up at the airport. If
you are driving, come on out to the ranch for an evening
meal together and to receive your room assignment
in the bunkhouse. Our bunkhouse has a private bath
with each room and meals are served in the main house.
Monday
is a day of instruction and preparation. New drivers
will be given a complete understanding of driving
principles and technique. Experienced drivers will
share their experiences to help broaden everyone's
understanding of this wonderful art. After lunch,
driving and hitching will begin. By the evening meal,
all will be assigned a wagon and team. As Tuesday
dawns, even new drivers will be confident as we line
out the wagons for departure.
Our
trip will take us over 50 miles of great western country.
We'll be traveling early freight trails and a stagecoach
road that has hardly changed in 100 years. [Photo]
Easily half of the enjoyment of this trip is our evenings
together at the campsites. Each camp offers unique
scenery and history. Every evening you'll enjoy fantastic
meals and a time of entertainment, stories, history
lessons and sometimes even singing groups. [ Photo

During
the course of this week, your driving knowledge and
skill will be greatly enriched and you will develop
a wonderful understanding for life as it was on the
Westward trail of the pioneers. On Friday afternoon
we will arrive back at the ranch to enjoy a great
final banquet together with lots of sharing and a
graduation ceremony.
While
some guests find it necessary to leave Friday night,
most have breakfast with us on Saturday morning before
heading home. Please make your return flight reservations
for sometime Saturday morning.
